  • The Royal College of Ophthalmologists website which had extensive information about eye conditions and regulates eye surgeons in the UK.
  • The College of Optometrists which is one of the professional bodies of Optometrists and has sources of information about eye conditions and clinical standards.
  • The General Optical Council is the regulatory body for Optometrists working in the UK. There website has information about the regulations to which all Optometrists must work.
  • The Royal National Institute for the Blind’s website is there to support blind and partially sighted people. It has a wealth of information about eye conditions, social services, employment, benefits, talking books and adaptions.
  • Diabetes UK. There website covers all aspects of diabetes from diagnosis to treatment and covers the topic of diabetic eye disease in more detail.
  • The Macula disease society is a group which provides information and local help to those with macula degeneration. It also covers some treatments currently available.
  • The International Glaucoma association is a comprehensive source of up-to-date news and information about glaucoma, and is provided as a free service by the International Glaucoma Association (IGA).
  • The Keratoconus Group is a self help and support association which has a good source of information about the cause and effect of Keratoconus and current treatments available.
