  • The College of Optometrists which is one of the professional bodies of Optometrists and has sources of information about eye conditions and clinical standards. http://www.college-optometrists.org/
  • The General Optical Council is the regulatory body for Optometrists working in the UK. There website has information about the regulations to which all Optometrists must work. http://www.optical.org/
  • The Royal National Institute for the Blind’s website is there to support blind and partially sighted people. It has a wealth of information about eye conditions, social services, employment, benefits, talking books and adaptions. http://www.rnib.org.uk/
  • Diabetes UK. There website covers all aspects of diabetes from diagnosis to treatment and covers the topic of diabetic eye disease in more detail. http://www.diabetes.org.uk/
  • The Macula disease society is a group which provides information and local help to those with macula degeneration. It also covers some treatments currently available. http://www.maculardisease.org/
  • The International Glaucoma association is a comprehensive source of up-to-date news and information about glaucoma, and is provided as a free service by the International Glaucoma Association (IGA). http://www.glaucoma-association.com/
  • The Keratoconus Group is a self help and support association which has a good source of information about the cause and effect of Keratoconus and current treatments available. http://www.keratoconus-group.org.uk
