YATES & SUDDELL LAUNCHES EYESTATION
Spectacle wearers in the North West can now enjoy improved and more natural vision thanks to ground - breaking new eye measuring technology, Eyestation, available at Bury Opticians yates & Suddell.Eyestation uses the latest digital tecnology to take extremely accurate measurements not normally possible with conventional techniques, resulting in improved lens quality for short, intermediate and long sighted people. The process is very quick taking around 30 seconds and is particularly helpful for users of varifocal lenses or wraparound sunglasses as it leads to better peripheral vision.
Because the technology uses cameras to project a patient's image onto a screen, the process is much like looking in a mirror, so people can also try on frames and judge how they look from a number of angles.
Yates and Suddell is the first opticians in the North West to install Eyestation and only one of three nationally to do so.
Keith Wright, dispensing optician at Yates & Suddell said "Eyestation takes a series of extremely accurate measurements (to within 1/10th mm) enabling me to maximise my patients' visual fields, without the distorted sensation which can be associated with conventional varifocals"
Angela Lindsay, 45, from Bury, recognised an immediate difference when Mr Wright persuaded her to try Eyestation. "I was born with a slight squint in one eye and at 25 I started wearing glasses. I went for the Eyestation test a couple of months ago and the results were amazing, so much so that I recently started wearing varifocals. The optician told me some people tend to have problems adjusting to varifocals but I've had mine for two months now and they are perfect".
Brian Horridge, 74, also from Bury said: "I've been going to Yates & Suddell for over 30 years and it's amazing to think how technology has changed. I used the Eyestation for the first time a few weeks ago and can really tell the difference. My lenses feel fine tuned and more accurate than before. I have a much better range of sideways vision and my eyes don't strain anymore"
